Keep Vieques Beautiful! is completing application for a 2013 Coca-Cola/Keep America Beautiful Recycling Bin Grant by midnight, March 4th, 2013, in hopes of getting more Public Space recycling bins to Vieques! Check it out at http://www.bingrant.org. Wish us luck!
Hector Melendez, Vieques Recycling Coordinator confirmed today, receipt of 200 recycling bins! These bins made a journey from Concord, NC to Vieques, PR! They were picked up this week in Bayamon, PR and brought the rest of the way….via truck and island ferry…to Vieques, PR The bins will be repurposed for the island’s curb side pilot scale collection program. The program’s initiation for door to door service is anticipated to begin in May 2012! Great team work Concord, NC & Vieques, PR….we really started something!
